Cricket has been played in the Cayman Islands since the late 1940’s and became an organized sport in 1973. Cayman Cricket is a non-profit organization, charged with the responsibility of organizing and running the sport in the Cayman Islands and is recognized by the government as one of its ‘focus’ sports’. Cayman Cricket became an Associate Member of the International Cricket Council in 2002 and teams from the Cayman Islands have participated in many international tournaments sanctioned by ICC. Our focus over the next three years is on youth development for both boys and girls and our infrastructure, as we seek to nurture a new crop of players, coming through from the U-19 level.
